The Stokes United Board and all of its activities are supported by the efforts of volunteers who are committed to building a thriving Stokes County community for all.
We also rely on volunteers for various needs, including office assistance, event support, and connecting with our supported agencies.

Open Volunteer Positions
Board Member
Stokes United is overseen by a 17-member board of volunteers. Responsibilities include:
- Attending monthly board meetings (typically held through Zoom)
- Dedicating your time and talents on a regular basis to lead or support a variety of necessary functions, including:
- fundraising
- event planning
- corporate partner recruitment
- marketing
- financial planning
- Other critical roles necessary for the agency to function at a high level
Please note that as a board member, you are expected to be active in supporting Stokes United efforts beyond regular board meeting attendance. If you have a special skill or strength you believe will be beneficial to Stokes United, please include that in the Comments section below.
Office/Administrative Support
From answering phones and correspondences to assisting in a variety of office functions, there are a variety of tasks and functions that need to be complete with the oversight of the Executive Director, our only paid position. Please include in the Comments section below the amount of time you are prepared to commit every week or month, including specific days of the week.
Support Agency Liaison
As a Support Agency Liaison, you may be tasked with monitoring requests from our support agencies, tracking progress of initiatives, and raising awareness within the community about support agency efforts.
Partner Recruiting
People in this role will act as Stokes United Ambassadors to recruit corporate and business participation as part of our fundraising efforts. Having some sales experience would be helpful, and you must be willing to invest the time to become well-educated about our capabilities and messaging. Duck Race Event Support
From planning to execution on the day of the event, including organizing and event setup and tear down, we need your support! Families are also welcome!
