American Red Cross
Piedmont Triad Chapter
- Responds to the emergency needs of disaster victims.
- Trains disaster action team volunteers.
- Teaches water safety, first aid, and other life saving skills classes to the community.
- Conduct community blood drives.
Boy Scouts of America
Old Hickory Council
- Develops boys’ character through citizenship training, educational, and outdoor activities.
Cancer Services
- Assists cancer patients with cancer medications, wigs and supplies, medical equipment, transportation to treatments, emotional support, and information and referral.
- Cancer prevention education is also offered to the community.
Group Homes
Springwell Group Homes of Forsyth County
- Provides residential services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and ensure they are given the best opportunities to reach their highest potential for independence and community inclusion.
- Teaches daily living and vocational skills.
Hospice & Palliative Care
Offers comfort and support to terminally ill patients and their families. Provides medical, psychological, and supportive and spiritual services.

Special Olympics
Stokes County Special Olympics
Provides an opportunity for all handicapped individuals of Stokes County to participate in athletic competition geared to their abilities.
Adaptive athletic equipment for Special Olympic training activities at various schools in Stokes County is available.
Stokes Friends of Youth
Provides individual, group and family therapy to children and their families in Stokes County.
Offers monetary restitution and community service work for juveniles referred by juvenile court counselors and judges.

Parenting
Stokes Parenting Path
- Family Support (expanded Parent Support program)
- Intensive Family Preservation Services (IFPS)
- Parent/Teen Solutions (PTS) – in-home based service program serving ages 7-18.
- Positive Effective Parenting (PEP) – a 12-week class designed for parents and caregivers to promote discipline with dignity, empathy, empowerment, and self-worth. Topics include Ages and Stages of Growth, Alternatives to Spanking, Developing Family Values/Rules and Positive ways to deal w th stress. Free. Virtual. Supervised Visitation and Monitored Exchangeesigned to ensure that children may have safe contact or transfer with a non-custodial parent without conflict. Parents may be in the midst of divorce, or impacted by SOB protection plans. Fee for service.
Domestic Violence
YVEDDI Family Violence and Sexual Assault
- Advocates for victims of domestic violence.
- Operates programs for and provides services to victims of domestic violence.
Becoming a Supported Agency
If you are a non-profit agency that offers services or support to the citizens of Stokes County, you may be eligible to receive a grant. Our grant application process is currently closed, however, we want to be able to let you know when we will be opening the application process.
